There is a distinct possibility that I have this marriage to Fanny Hemingway confused with the other Fanny Hemingway dau of Richard Hemingway & Nancy Lister. The two girls were bapt within months of each other.

Chief engineer of the Great Northern Railway Company from 1876 until 1910. William Hemingway Mills was born in Yorkshire in 1834 and in 1850 became a pupil of William Henry Barlow. After working on railways in Scotland, Andalucia and Mexico, he was appointed chief engineer of the Great Northern Railway in 1876, a position which he held until his retirement in 1910. He was an active member of the Insitution of Civil Engineers of Ireland and is said to have interested himself in many charitable works. He died at home in Glenageary on 12 January 1918.(1) His pupils and assistants included JOSHUA HARRISON HARGRAVE.
