Maurice - Its only relatively recently that I've managed to sort out the descendants of Hannah Makin. This was all down to getting a copy of her will (copy attached) which was extremely useful and informative. As you'll see she had 4 children (a son, George and 3 daughters, Elizabeth, Sarah and Ann). What confused me initially was the fact that she said she had a brother called George Pearson when I knew her maiden name was Makin. I then discovered that she was illegitimate and that her mother, Elizabeth, subsequently married a George Pearson in 1800.

I'm not certain of Hannah's year of birth, as, despite extensive searching, I've not been able to find her baptism but it appears from census records that it would have been around 1785 to 1790. I've also attached a 3 generation outline descendant tree of Hannah's mother, Elizabeth. I've found out a lot of info on George Pearson, Hannah's brother, who ultimately became a very wealthy man with interests in several coal mines. He founded the company Pope and Pearson and on his death in 1880 left 160,000.

I can send you an invite to my tree on Ancestry if you want which contains a lot more info.

      Regards

      John
